Blacklisted by the Recipient Validation (all recipients blacklisted). RSS Back to forum

Hi,

we got a strange problem regarding ORF.

ORF Fusion 5.4.1

Our internal customer can send emails from internal to external.
We setup our backup solution, veeam, and it should send emails to our IT Mailbox (External). But every email is blacklisted with the message: Blacklisted by the Recipient Validation (all recipients blacklisted).

The internal customer can send us emails to the IT Mailbox. Only from veeam the emails cant be sent.

We also insert an exceptions unter recipient validation for the veeam Email adress, but the same behaviour. So I add our IT Mailbox adress to the Exceptions and everthing works fine. But this isnt a solution, because the ftp Server has the same problem and it should send notifications to external customer. But the same error message appears.
I've also tried to add the IP Adress from the Email Server in the IP Whitelist, but doesn't work.
We have Recipient validation configured to check our Active Directory and it work fine.
We also tested to add the FTP Mailbox address and veeam address as secondary Email address to an AD User. The test said that the email was found.

It seems like, ORF think that our external IT Mailbox is an internal customer, but the mx record said the right external ip address.

So, please help

Hello deausw,

ORF, by design, filtering incoming emails only. It does not filter emails sent directly from Class A (10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255), Class B (172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255), Class C (192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255) private intranet address ranges and from the local host address (127.0.0.1). It sounds like your ORF installation is unable to determine the correct source IP address of the outbound emails or there is mail loop in your system and the emails are being resubmitted for delivery by an external server.

Disabling the Recipient Validation test at the On Arrival filtering point might be a workaround, but I am confident the issue is not with the Recipient Validation test.

If incoming emails are first relayed through several other external hosts that belong to your organization (or some 3rd party services) before ORF could test them, then you should add the IP address (or range) of those hosts to the "Intermediate Host List" of ORF: https://vamsoft.com/support/docs/orf-help/6.1.1/adm-intermediatehostlist

If this does not solve the issue, please send your ORF configuration file (orfent.ini) and the relevant ORF log files (e.g. orfee-2019-11-06.log) to for analysis. You may find them in the ORF program directory by default (C:\Program Files (x86)\ORF Fusion).
