I can't start ORF service after recover server. RSS Back to forum
Hello kravtsov,
I suspect that the 'Log on' settings of the ORF Service are incorrect. The ORF Service uses the Local System account by default. Please try the following:
1. Open the Windows Services snap-in (Start>Run>services.msc)
2. Locate and right-click on the 'ORF Service', select Properties
3. Select the 'Log on' tab
4. Make sure that the 'Local System account' is selected
5. Click Ok.
If the above does not help, please try to reinstall the ORF Service:
1. Open the Windows Command Prompt (Start>Run>cmd.exe)
2. Navigate to the ORF directory (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\ORF Fusion)
3. Run the following command: orfeesvc.exe -uninstall
4. Run the following command: orfeesvc.exe -install
5. Try to start the ORF Service
Please let me know if this has helped.
@Daniel Novak (Vamsoft):
1. The 'Local System account' is selected
2. I try to reinstall the ORF Service
but still can`t start
@kravtsov:
Hello kravtsov,
In this case, please try to reset the Microsoft IIS Administration Service as well:
1. Start the Windows Command Prompt (Start>Run>cmd.exe)
2. Run the following command: "iisreset"
You should get the following:
Attempting stop...
Internet services successfully stopped
Attempting start...
Internet services successfully restarted
If this does not solve the problem, please send us () the ORF configuration file called 'orfent.ini' and your most recent logs (e.g. orf-2015-10-27.log). They can be found in the ORF program directory, \Program Files (x86)\ORF Fusion by default.
I sent the ORF configuration, but there is no logs after after recovery server.
For future reference, this issue was caused by a corrupted PowerLog references file (called plogrefs.dat). Once the corrupted file was deleted, the ORF Service successfully started.
Our server (Windows Server 2008 SP2 x64) had to restore a copy of the July 2015. When i try start service manually the following message is displayed ''The ORF Service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs''.
The Event viewer shows a ''The ORF Service service entered the stopped state.'' message with a 7036 ID.
