Can anyone explain how to whitelist a SMTP address?

Ex. smtp-1234567890.us-east-1.server.com

Thanks in advance.

This is a normal hostname. Just add it to the ip-whitelist (all of it's ips, if it's an alias).

@jpp: ORF currently does not have a "hostname whitelist" feature, so (as Norbert mentioned), you should add all the IPs assigned to this hostname to the IP Whitelist.

Alternatively, you could try the Keyword Whitelist feature which can check the MIME header of the email (so if it was relayed through this host or was originated from it, that will be indicated in the MIME header and a whitelist rule could be set up), but that is restricted to the On Arrival filtering point only, as the header in not available Before Arrival (i.e., Before Arrival blacklist test will ignore this whitelist rule).

@Vishal Saxena: Are you referring to a full SMTP email address? If so, you should add the address to the Sender (or Recipient) Whitelist using the 'ORF Administration Tool'. See:

Using the Sender Whitelist: https://vamsoft.com/support/docs/orf-help/5.4.1/adm-senderwhitelist

Using the Recipient Whitelist: https://vamsoft.com/support/docs/orf-help/5.4.1/adm-recipientwhitelist

Otherwise - if you want to whitelist an SMTP server - I suggest you add its IP address to the IP Whitelist in the 'ORF Administration Tool' -- as suggested by Norbert Fehlauer and Krisztian Fekete above. See:

Using the IP Whitelist: https://vamsoft.com/support/docs/orf-help/5.4.1/adm-ipwhitelist
