Message size limit in ORF? RSS Back to forum
@Kevin:
This is curious, because the DSN looks like as if it was generated by Exchange 2007 or 2010 - are you sure no Exchange 2007 or later is involved in the delivery? In any case, there are several places in Exchange where message limits can be configured. This KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322679 explains the various settings for Exchange 2000/2003 and this blog entry explains the Exchange 2007 settings: http://exchangeshare.wordpress.com/2008/04/24/exchange-2007-where-to-set-message-mail-size-limit/
As for ORF, it does have a message size limit of 50Mb, however it works differently. When ORF encounters an oversized email, it just skips checking the email (with logging the fact) and will not reject it.
@Peter Karsai (ORF Team): Thanks. I've checked and double checked the KB article from MS but still cannot find where the restriction is coming from. We are definitely using Exchange 2003 with ORF in the front end. Thanks for clarifying the limit in ORF. Now I can focus on Exchange without worrying the limit is coming from somewhere else.
Hello. Is there a message size limit setting in ORF somewhere? My organization cannot receive messages larger than 5MB. I've double checked my Exchange 2003 settings and all of them are set to 20MB or larger. I'm getting an NDR that indicates: 552 552 4.3.1 Message size exceeds fixed maximum message size (state 18).
Message tracking in Exchange indicates that the message are getting through to Exchange, but I thought I'd check with Vamsoft just in case.
Thanks.
