This help section describes the control options of the ORF Service.
The ORF Service is a Windows® Service, which resides in the orfeesvc.exe file.
Service name: ORF Service
Service host executable: orfeesvc.exe
Service identifier (for net start/net stop): VSORFEE
To start the service using the ORF Administration Tool, select

To reinitialize the ORF Service (e.g., on configuration change) without restarting the service, run orfeesvc.exe with the -updateconfig parameter:
The ORF Service cannot be controlled when connecting remotely, as the service is required to run for the remote connection: stopping or restarting it would close the connection, resulting in a "I closed myself out and the key is inside" situation. To avoid this, the configuration can only be saved remotely, which actually reinitializes the service with the new settings without restarting it.
