DNS Health Test

Click the Health Check button on the SystemDNS page to perform a test of DNS resolver you have configured. This dialog can be also invoked by clicking the Check Health button on the DNS settings dialog. The test itself can be initiated by pressing the Run Test button on the Test tab, the test parameters can be configured on the Settings tab.

Test Details

ORF performs 3 test (each test twice, once using UDP packets and once using TCP packets, six tests altogether) by querying the domains you specified on the Settings tab:

• queries the MX record of a specified domain with an existing MX record
  (if it works correctly, the MX record should be returned)
• queries the MX record of a specified domain which has no MX records
  (if it works correctly, the DNS server should report no records found)
• queries the MX record of a non-existent domain
  (if it works correctly, the DNS server should report non-existing domain (NXDOMAIN))
