This help section describes the IP Address Expression dialog.

Using the Dialog

Entering an IP address or address ranges

The dialog accepts a single IPv4 address in a dotted format (e.g., 1.2.3.4) or an IPv4 network range. Ranges can be defined using various notations. The examples below all describe the 192.168.251.0 - 192.168.251.255 range:

  • 192.168.251.0-192.168.251.255: Text range format.
  • 192.168.251.0/255.255.255.0: Subnet mask format.
  • 192.168.251.0/24: CIDR format.
  • 192.168.251.*: Wildcard format.

Comment

Enter an optional comment here which will be logged on a test hit.

Test

Enter an IP address to be tested against the current expression. The test result will be indicated on the right site of the input area (Matches or Does not match).
