This help section describes the Plus Addressing Settings dialog of ORF.
When the ORF is filtering or validating the recipient address, the recipient address is checked "as is" (e.g. [email protected]). This means that strict filtering expressions (which only filter for [email protected]) may not match a recipient address wih a plus tag, or the recipient address with the plus tag may not verify because it does not match anything on the list of valid recipients. Enable this option if you want ORF to tests the recipient address with and without the plus tag.
Mail servers that do not support plus addressing may not be able to deliver the incoming email to the recipient's mailbox if the recipient address contains a plus tag. Enable this option to remove the plus tag from the recipient address in incoming emails.
Plus tags added by ORF will not be removed when this option is enabled.
Although we do not yet have a scheduled release date, we are working on allowing ORF administrators to move the plus tag from the recipient address to the message header and/or the subject line of the email. This would give both users and administrators of mail servers that do not support plus addressing more flexibility in handling plus tags.
